Rainy Day

May 30~May31
Tim and Nick

We wished it were a fine day and we could have a picture taken of Tim to show Duma how cool his host could be while playing fire ball. But it was a shame that the weather was terrible. It rained too much and we couldn'tgo out.we stayed home, playing computer games together last Sunday.

The weather ruin our plan, but it brought us something "fresh".there were numbers of mushrooms on the grass today.I got one looking more complete and brought it to our classroom.Everyone looked at the mushroom and said it looked poisonous. Some of them even wanted to cut it into small pieces, and others wanted to tear it.

I spent several hours brushing Duma'shair with my hand to make him cooler. And I found Duma and the mushroom could form cute views, but Tim said the mushroom was disgusting.Tim wanted to play basketball for a few minutes before returning home. So I took Duma to watch it.

Wednesday,a funny day!

Today is Wednesday! The sunshine sprinkled on the grass of our school , and the breeze was blwing slightly.I think we would have a nice day with Duma .

In the moring , our teacher let us watch the moveie about how a teenage girl who was pregnant solve the problem about her baby. Everyone was interested in the movie beacause this movie's expression was very special .

In the next class was English , we took English class with our teacher and favorite Duma. Here is our lovely English teacher's photo. Our English is very friendly , isn't he? XD

This was our Duma's desk. He was very hard in this class . I think he certainly studied very much.

Afterwards, there had club class on our curricular schedule. In the class of science, we fixed wooden blocks to special figure. This was our first product.Duma was very happy in this production.

This was our second product. The person next Duma was Alex. He liked Duma very much.

After this class, we finished all our class.Everyone had a happy time with Duma. What a wonderful day we had!

An exhauping day

In the morning, despite humidity the weather was pleasant. However, everyone wasn't energetic , because we had to go to school for 9 lectures, eight of which were occupied by math, Chinese, English, and chemisy. The only class we could catch our breath was the career planning class; by the way, our career planning teacher is a beauty. Ding Dong rang the bell; when the classes were over, we took Duma to play basketball. Unfortunately, it start to rain when we were about to hang out. Although we couldn't play basketball with our little guest in the end, we still had a good day.

Duma in the art class

Today was an annoying but interesting day. Because of the rain, I could't go anywhere, including attending the flag-raising ceremony. At about 10:10, I had the "art class". Brush painting is such a great literary and artistic activity. It was a lot of fun. I painted chickens, and I also added some rocks and grass. After taking a nap, the highlight of the day was coming. My classmates and I were going to make Pudding Milk Tea and Egg Tarts. All of us were very excited

The Music Class Jeffrey, Evan.

Today is our turn: Jeffrey and Evan.

We would like to be honest that today's morning had our swimming PE class.

Avoiding DUMA from being wet(actually it's that we forget to bring DUMA to the swimming pool), we didn't take DUMA to the pool.

But don't be nervous, we chose the great topic: The Music Class.

In the class, we saw a movie about the musician, Mozart's life. He was excellent in not only playing musics but also writing musics. His talent made him be rich, but his enjoyment made him be poor. Although he was hard in creating operas for the royal to earn what he and his wife lived on, but the overmuch works made him come dawn at last.

We saw the last part in tje movie called "The Dying Mass". Mozart was got a mission to make a mass music for a strange man when he got a heavy sick. The melody was done and Mozart was died. We felt very touching after the movie ending.

We felt glad that DUMA can watch the movie with us, but we don't know whether DUMA understands what he saw. HA HA HA~~~

Our New Friend: Duma

When we gazed at Duma with a surprising expression on our face, we were curious about his unique hairstyle . In our opinion, Duma's hair looked just like a sooty microphone . He was so lovely that everyone in my class wanted to look at him and take photos with him.
With ecstasy, we hold a small─scale welcome reception. It is our pleasure to receive such a charming friend. Hence, we made a luxurious seat for him in order to correspond to his dignity. We also took him outside to feel the glittering and mild sunshine on the meadow of our campus, which we assumed the largest grassland all around the world . [To be honest, the weather in Taitung is extremely scorching that we were almost crazy.] Afterward, we took Duma to a room for storing our musical instruments to listen to the graceful music played by some of our classmates in NTSH wind music band. It was delightful for us to be together and share our joy .
In conclusion, we sincerely greet Duma. We hoped that Duma could feel at ease in NTSH and have jolly memories in our enthusiastic school . Duma, be our good friend !!
[We recommended that Duma could take part in our boxing game!]

The happy days 祐榕 shared with Ruth Yee

(以下從祐榕的角度寫他與Ruth共度的兩天)

Apr. 25th, 2010

When I just came back from the cram school at night, I was so surprised to see Ruth Yee sit on the sofa in my home. She was watching TV with my mom. My mom said that Ruth just watched the opening ceremony of 全中運 with my classmates, and they sent her to my home after the ceremony.
She looked happy for the tours today, but she looked a little tired. I asked her “Well, so do you still want to go out to take a walk? Or do you want to take a rest?” She replied, “Oh! Thanks. I am a bit tired so I don’t want to go out now.”
So I stayed home with Ruth this night. I chatted with her for a long time. She talked about her life in Taipei and how she felt in Taitung. She told me Taitung is a beautiful place, and the sky is the most bluest that she has ever seen.
In the end, I played guitar and sang a song to her. She seemed to enjoy the melody of the song!
I took her to the guest room and let her go sleeping at 9 o’clock.
Wish you have a good night, Ruth! ^^

Apr. 26th,2010

Today I had a bike tour with Ruth.

The destination for Today’s tour is Basian Cave(八仙洞), the Tropic of Cancer(北回歸線) and the Eastern coast(東海岸).

The weather was fine today when we got started. It was a little cool and not humid at all. To Ruth's and my surprise, the sunlight was very soft. The wind let us feel very comfortable. All in all, today was the best day to ride the bike, enjoying all the beautiful scenery along the Eastern coast!
I let Ruth sit in my bag, and then I put her on on my bike. When she saw I did that, she was a bit amazed because she once thought that I would travel around by riding a wild boar(野山豬). She said, “It’s said that you students in Taitung rode wild boars as a means of transportation!”
“But it is not real. It's just an old joke about people in Taitung!” I said “Ha! Ha!”

With the speed of bike becoming faster and faster, I could hear the exciting shriek of Ruth. She seemed to love the coastal view along thge Pacific Ocean very much. So I had my photo taken with her near the beach.

After one hour, we arrived at Basian Cave. I told her the caves were formed millions of years ago dut to the sea erosion. And in ancient times, the caves were the home of ancient human beings. The culture of these human being called Changbin Culture(長濱文化). I took Ruth to see the caves. There are eleven caves totally. But I found that most of the caves were occupied as different temples. The guide said that the temples have been built in the caves for one-hundred years. It is difficult to force them to be moved away, but the government is trying to deal with the problem now. To find a clear cave for Ruth, I climbed almost all the climbing trail. Fortunately, I finally find a clear cave in the top of the mountain (Basian caves are in the seaside cliffs). We were so happy to find it!
On the top of the mountain, Ruth and I looked down forward the sea. We were touched by the majestic sight. She asked me “Are there still humans living in the caves?” “No," I replied, “But there are many monkeys living here.” I pointed to a nearby monkey staring at us, and laughing loudly.

At 3 o'clock, we arrived at the Tropic of Cancer. There were many tourists from Japan and China, and they were taking photos beside the Tropic of Cancer Marker. Some of them stood on the site of the Tropic of Cancer, with their arms spreading from north to south. They said that half of their body was in the tropic zone while the other was in the subtropical. It sounded interesting!!
A Japan Obasan (歐巴桑) saw Ruth and I, coming toward me immediately. She looked at Ruth for a while. Then, she said "Kawai!!" She seemed to like Ruth very much!!

Ruth Yee & her dear diary in Taitung Part 2

Apr. 16th,2010

Dear Diary,
Today is a sultry day. It rained in the early morning, but the sun showed up at noon and the temperature kept going up. I felt very uncomfortable.
The new friend who took care of me is the only student living in the dorm. His name is 茂均,and he said I would stay in the dorm with him tonight. Some students here said those who lived in the dorm are very eccentric, and it made me a little bit frightened.
At 5:20 p.m., 茂均 took me to traverse the big playground of National Taitung Senior High, and we arrived at the mysterious dorm. The dorm is such a big building. To my surprise, the life in the dorm is not as "strange" as I thought. Actually, students here lived a very regular life because students in the dorm have to obey the command of the military instructors.
茂均's room is bright but dank. Besides, there were many mosquitoes. Each room can accommodate 4 students, and all of 茂均's roommates were very friendly. I thought I was oversensitive before I came to the dorm. It seemed not too bad. I wish I could have a good night in the dorm.
Ruth

Dear Diary,

Today is my turn to take care of Ruth. I took her to my place, the dorm of NTSH. Although the dorm of NTSH wasn't good enough, we had been accustomed to the life here. Most of the students in the dorm were kind to Ruth, and my roommates were especially curious about her. Sometimes they touched her hand and gave her a big hug. I believed they all loved her and I wish she could have a good dream.
